Aegis Processing Solutions is pleased to announce the hiring of Kenneth Romine as chief operating officer. Romine comes to Aegis from Veterans of Foreign Wars where he was director of member services.
With more than 22 proven years of experience in business operations and human resources functions, Romine, who is also a former Aegis Processing Solutions client, was a natural choice to lead the organization towards its strategic goals.
“Ken’s operational expertise and his extensive industry experience will strengthen our position in the nonprofit donation processing industry as we continue to innovate,” said Lori Read, CEO of Aegis Premier Solutions, parent company of Aegis Processing Solutions. “As a former Aegis client, Ken brings an added level of knowledge to this position.”
"I am extremely excited to join a passionate and growing organization whose purpose is to protect and support nonprofit organizations’ fundraising initiatives, while ensuring security is the upmost priority, allowing clients to rest easily at night," said Romine.
Prior to his position at VFW, where he was responsible for managing revenue, ROI, member service center operating budget and sales, Romine served in the U.S. Army and retired after more than 20 years of dedicated service. During his time in the military, he served in numerous senior level positions in larger business operations and executive human resources roles that included chief of operations and chief of human resources.
Romine’s military assignments included eight locations, both domestic and international, as well as a 15-month combat tour to Kalsu, Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. His military awards and decorations include The Meritorious Service Medal (four), Army Commendation Medal (nine), Army Achievement Medal (ten), the Drills Sergeant Badge and the Parachutist (Airborne) badge.
Romine is an active Legacy Life member of the Department of Kansas VFW where he currently serves as the Post Adjutant for Post 56 in Leavenworth. He holds an MBA and a Bachelor of Science in management/human resources from Park University in Parkville, Missouri. He and his wife Karli, along with their four sons, reside in Lansing.
As part of the company’s leadership reorganization, current Aegis Processing Solutions President Tom Bender will transition into the role of quality assurance director. Bender, who began his tenure with Aegis in 1989, has served in numerous roles within the company. His expertise in the nonprofit caging industry helped establish Aegis as the industry leader.
